Ms. Sankari Das

She was born on January 2, 1973, in Agartala. She pursued her Honours in Mathematics and later obtained an LL.B from Tripura University. Additionally, she completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism with first-class distinction.
A recipient of the prestigious National Award in Sadbhavana Essay in 1994, she was honored by the then Prime Minister, P. V. Narasimha Rao. She joined the Tripura Judiciary as a Judicial Officer in 2004 after a successful career as a practicing lawyer. Over the years, she has served in various capacities as a Judicial Officer and holds the distinction of being the first lady District Judge of Tripura.
She has also been an esteemed keynote speaker at an International Conference held in Bangladesh by CCN University of Science and Technology. As an author, she has contributed to legal literature with her book, “Commentaries on the Constitution of Princely Tripura State”, which received critical acclaim in the prestigious journal “Frontline”. Her scholarly articles have also been published in various national journals, including AIR.
On 23rd April, 2025 she took the charge of the District and Sessions Judge, Sepahijala Judicial District
